tink | knit by Enactus @ Brown
tink | knit is a social project initiated by the Brown University Enactus Team that empowers single mothers in Rhode Island to knit goods that are sold in the Brown Bookstore. Along with inspiring confidence, teaching technical skill, and supplementing incomes, tink | knit holistically supports each single mother with access to legal resources and workshops centered on personal finance and the job-seeking process. Within 3 months, tink | knit has sold over 200 hats and generated revenue of $6,000, increasing the single mothers’ incomes by 30%-100%. We envision forming a supportive community for single mothers and their children in our community, and transforming their lives sustainably and permanently.
